A Matter Of Time

For me it was just a matter of time
I always thought my heart was kind
And yet I find with life's quick passing
Ways and means, all values clashing

Life's flow comes, and then it goes
My feelings know the ebbs and flows
Then, like a whirlpool quickly turning
My sight's a blur with no discerning

Time it takes to get things straight
My mind released from fear and hate
For love dies soon when mixed with fear
And hate, a source of many tears

But time itself, a Great Physician
A balm, a guide to bring correction
And when, with time, my thoughts I know
My heart a better path can show

Love once again can find a way
A fertile place where my heart can stay
Where kind and good things freely grow
My best in all the world to show
